How Can Coconut Oil Help The Skin Around Your Eyes?
The skin around your eyes is extremely delicate! Ideally, from your mid-twenties, you can start applying eye cream before you go to sleep in order to help protect your delicate eye area.
Because the skin under your eyes is so thin it is often one of the first places that ageing can show up on your face.
Two great natural options for eye cream are organic raw coconut oil and rosehip oil.
There are lots of other oils that can have beneficial properties also. Each night gently massage the cream into the eye area to help minimise any fine lines or dark circles!
DIY Coconut Oil Eye Cream!
Here is a great DIY eye cream that you can easily make at home:
INGREDIENTS:
4 tbsp. Organic raw coconut oil
4 Vitamin E capsules
3 tsp. Rosehip oil
METHOD:
1. Put the coconut oil in a small bowl inside of a larger bowl filled with hot water to gently melt. Make sure the water is not too hot as not to destroy any of the beneficial raw properties of the coconut oil.
2. Pierce the vitamin E capsules and add them to the melted coconut.
3. Lastly, add the rosehip oil and stir all of the ingredients together.
4. Store in a small glass jar and keep it in a cool, dark place.
Use nightly as an evening eye cream or for a gentle self-massage of the eye area!
Oil Benefits For The Skin Under Your Eyes:
COCONUT OIL:
Coconut oil is antifungal and antibacterial and contains essential fatty acids and antioxidants to deeply nourish and repair your skin. Due to its high-fat content coconut oil is also extremely hydrating for dry skin.
Coconut oil contains many proteins which can help to keep skin soft and younger looking. It can also be beneficial in healing and repairing damaged skin and naturally treating many skin disorders.
VITAMIN E:
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxidant often used in beauty products for its ability to rejuvenate and repair damaged skin. It helps to prevent and repair the damage done to the skin from UV radiation and free radicals along with helping to boost the natural elasticity and collagen within the skin.
Vitamin E is also useful in helping to heal any scarring or pigmentation damage to the skin.
ROSE HIP OIL:
Rosehip oil comes from the seeds of rose bushes mainly harvested from Chile. This oil is fantastic for skin that is mature or starting to show signs of ageing as it contains plenty of vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids!
Powerful vitamin C antioxidants can help to boost collagen and work to naturally reduce any fine lines and wrinkles.
Rosehip oil also contains Vitamin A which can allow the cream to deeply penetrate the skin and help to repair photo-ageing, skin tone and pigmentation ♥
